How entries work

An entry is a single record of something you want to keep track of. It can be anything. A diary entry, a meal you cooked, a book you read, your mood after lunch, an analysis of your quality sleep. Anything!

Each and every entry you create is private. Logling is not a social platform, it is a platform for self improvement.

Creating an entry

To create an entry on Logling.com, create an account or sign in to an existing account. Once signed in you’ll see the “Quick Log” input. Type the name of your entry into the input and click the button to submit. You’ll see your new entry populated underneath. You can click on your new entry to add more details.

You’ll see a calendar at the top of the page, the currently selected date is the day to which this entry will be added. Use this calendar to select and add data to different days.

The bare minimum

At its most basic, an entry is a date, a title, and an optional description.

However, the more detailed the info you provide, the better Logling’s data visiualization and AI analysis tools will work. In order to take proper advantage of these tools - and provide good information for you to look back on - you should also tag and associate structured (schematized) data to your entry. The following sections discuss these topics in greater detail.

Tag your entry by topic

Tags are used to associate related entries together. Once you add a tag to your entry, you can view all the entries related to this tag in one place. You can also use “Logling” insights to use AI tools to analyze your data.

Add structured data to your entry

Structured data are data structures that come from Logling’s schemas. These are saved and use to produce visualizations and AI insights.

Remember to ask: what is it all for?

Logling is not intended to be an addictive experience, nor a sponge to hoover up every piece of data about your life. Instead, it’s a tool to help your memory and mindfulness, one that uses modern technology to give you a leg up.
